Will said make a pouting face....this is what he got! Read on. This is my new outfit!
A couple of weeks ago, Will and I were asked to sing in a quartet for Stake Conference. Anyone that knows me well enough can guess that I about peed my pants. I am not a master soloist or small group singer....I stick to choir. My voice is easily blended in and I don't have to worry about people hearing my mistakes. I said yes anyways because I knew that it would help me overcome my fear.
So we started practicing with the other couple (the Schelins). We connected with them almost immediately and stayed there for a couple of hours just talking (they're great people, we love them). At first, I lacked a lot of confidence in myself and didn't come in right away. The more we practiced though, the more confident I became. Our voices all blended well and the music was beautiful. The next challenge was doing that in front of a HUGE crowd.
After buying a cute new outfit with my mom and sister (a must if I wanted to feel a little more confident in my opinion) I went up there with Will, Kara, and Chris and sang my heart out. My parents came to support us (which I will forever be grateful for) and said that my music was shaking the whole time. I did the best that I could, made a couple of mistakes, but it sounded great! I can't believe that I had done it!
I didn't become an expert yesterday ( and won't for awhile), but I'm one step closer to being more confident in my small group/solo singing. It was a great experience for me, and taught me that the only thing that is standing in my way is me. I do have the ability, I just need to understand and do that. I'm grateful for that opportunity, and who knows...I could be up there again!

I'm so sad I missed it. I really wanted to go. I was having a hard night. Maybe you could give me a solo performance of what you did :)

Good for you! I'm seriously impressed. I would never be brave enough to do that. By the way, I want your outfit! So cute!
