Here's the picture of the croc we saw. Good thing they left us alone. I think the guide said this one was about 5 feet, yikes!

Jungle Safari Tour
One of the last things we did in Tamarindo was go on a jungle safari tour. We didn't realize that the tour was an all day including a trip to a pottery workshop (loved it!), a trip to the oldest church in Costa Rica (over 500 years old), and a very yummy typical Costa Rican meal. Not to mention a great jungle tour on the river. I felt like I was a Disneyland! We saw monkeys, ant eaters, crocs, birds, crabs, bats, iguanas. It was a great way to end our vacation!
Here's one of the demonstrations at the pottery place. It was amazing to hear the process that they go through and to see the end result. We ended up buying a piece for ourselves. It's one of my treasured items that I got!
If you look closely, you can see the pottery to the left of us!
Here's the oldest chapel. It still is in operation today! It was beautiful!!
We saw a bunch of monkeys on our way to the national forest. Our tour guide got them howling really loud. It was fun to see it.

For lunch they took us to this beautiful restaurant that had gardens surrounding it with chickens and butterflys everywhere. The dish they served included a meet of our choice, rice, beans, plantain, and garnish. At the end, they gave us a scoop of icecream. It was delicious!
Here's our tour guide. We was fabulous! Very knowledgable of his country and spoke with such pride in it. I was impressed by how much the country protects its wildlife and what they do to do that. Again, his English is great! Costa Rica doens't have a military force, they decided to use the money that would've supported the miliarty with to go towards their school system. 95% of the people in Costa Rica can read and write and have degrees. That's more then the US!
